الصراف الآلي (Automated Teller Machine. ATM) : جهاز إلكتروني يتيح لأصحاب الحسابات المصرفية إدارة حساباتهم، بما في ذلك التحقق من أرصدتهم وسحب الأموال أو إيداعها، وتحويل الأموال من حساب إلى آخر، وطباعة كشف المعاملات المالية.
كان أول ظهور للصراف الآلي عام 1939، حين اخترعه "لوثر جورج سيمجيان" وركبّه في "مصرف سيتي بنك"، لكنه أزيل بعد 6 أشهر بسبب عدم تقبل العملاء لفكرته، ولم تطرح الفكرة مرة أخرى إلا بعد أكثر من 25 عاماً على يد "جون شبرد بارون" الذي يعد أول من اخترع آلة صراف آلي إلكترونية لصالح "بنك باركليز".
